Spiral Gardens Country Park Retreat

We are located within beautiful native bush, rolling grounds with majestic punga trees, varied forest, rhododendrons, orchard, and fruit & veggie gardens. The lawns go down to the Piopiotea River, whilst a swimming hole is reached by an enjoyable forest trail going down to the river.

Guests are welcome to wander the grounds, use the outdoor decks and enjoy the surroundings. Birds and wildlife abound most of the year, especially at dusk, when the bird songs and crickets seem to compete against each other.

We are located beside the world famous Raurimu Spiral, and convenient for exploring the Tongariro National Park, doing the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing, cycling, canoeing, and fishing in the summer with the Whakapapa ski field available in winter.

We offer self-catering in the luxurious ‘Honeybee Cottage’ or the cosy studio apartment ‘Monarch of the Glen’, both located within the grounds, or suites as a B&B option in the main homestead. Free wi-fi is available for guests throughout.

The larger B&B suites each have a king bed, couch, chairs, coffee table, mini fridge for drinks and nibbles, writing desk and an ensuite bathroom.

The family B&B suite has a queen bed, fold out sofa bed couch, coffee table, chairs, mini fridge and its own larger family bathroom.
